| I just installed a new filter cartridge and my water is cloudy/white. Why is that, and what can I do about it? |
| This is likely the cause of air presence in the housing, lines and cartridge. After installing a new water filter you should always flush or run it for a few minutes. This is the case with any and all brands of filter cartridges. Running water through the cartridge for a few minutes – generally up to five – will make the cloudy conditions go away. If you have very cold water, it’s possible oxygen in the water is producing the cloudy effects. With drinking water filter cartridges that contain carbon it is recommended that you flush/run the faucet tap for at least 20 seconds prior to using the water because of very fine black carbon powder.
